Desmond Fletcher
Mornington Peninsula, VIC — Tattooist
Desmond Fletcher spent the better part of a decade tattooing out of a studio in the Hunter Valley before deciding, as he puts it, that he'd rather be somewhere he could hear the ocean. He relocated to the Mornington Peninsula earlier this year. He doesn't advertise much. He works out of a private home studio in Merricks, by appointment only — the kind of setup that suits someone who is particular about who sits in his chair and how long he has to work on them. His style is rooted in traditional flash and americana — bold linework, considered composition, the kind of work that looks like it belongs on a flash sheet pinned to a parlour wall in 1962.
