The Oni Signal Cap compresses Thalo Halo’s collaged cartoon style into a split embroidered composition across a washed-black cotton crown.

One panel carries raised Japanese lettering, while the other reveals a snarling oni rendered in greyscale with restrained purple detailing. The deliberately divided placement works with the centre seam, making the cap feel fractured by design rather than decorated as an afterthought.

Its low-profile, unstructured construction and vintage wash give it a worn-in shape from day one. The adjustable back closure provides a comfortable fit without losing the cap’s stripped-back silhouette.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Thalo Halo is a painter from Geneva, Illinois, outside Chicago. His collaged cartoon style commemorates the pop-cultural and psychological influences that have shaped major milestones throughout his life.

After studying art at the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale, Thalo stepped away from painting for two decades before returning with a visual language built from memory, nostalgia and controlled chaos.
