Untitled #1 brings together the imagery Renee Orlando returns to again and again: skulls, butterflies, webbing and flowing black linework layered over garments that already carry the marks of time. Nothing feels polished for the sake of it. The artwork is allowed to breathe, imperfections included.
The heavyweight frayed tee was chosen because it mirrors that philosophy. Raw hems, vintage washing and substantial cotton create a garment that feels like it's lived a life before it reaches yours. The artwork simply continues the story.
